Target

Target restocks are usually a cart-and-checkout fight, not a queue — the goal is getting the right item into your cart fast, then working through checkout without tripping Target's own fraud/bot protections.

Quick reference

  • Typical quantity limit: 2 units per SKU per order.
  • Typical order limit: up to 2 orders per SKU (4 units total) — Target enforces this across your account, address, and payment method, not just per order.
  • Main risk: a temporary account, browser, or network flag after heavy add-to-cart activity, not the item actually selling out from under you.

Set up before a drop

  • Confirm your saved shipping address (including apartment/unit) and payment method ahead of time — never fill these out live.
  • Keep the Target app signed in — it tends to hold up better than desktop under heavy traffic.
  • Also keep target.com/checkout open on a computer as a second path.

Mobile-to-desktop checkout

A pattern that works well for high-demand items:

  • Add the item to your cart from the Target app or mobile site, quantity 2 or less.
  • On a computer signed into the same account, open target.com/checkout directly.
  • Confirm address, fulfillment method, quantity, and payment, then place the order.
  • Check your order history and email right after — reaching the cart is not the same as the order actually going through.
A tactic some members use: add one normal, everyday item (like a snack) alongside the restock item before checking out. A mixed cart reads as ordinary shopping to Target's fraud detection, which can reduce false-positive blocks — it does nothing for actual inventory or quantity limits, it just makes a legitimate order look less like automated traffic.

What common errors actually mean

  • "High demand item in cart" — normal response to heavy traffic. Dismiss it and retry the checkout step normally.
  • Cart or checkout won't open — Target has likely flagged your session or IP as automated traffic. Stop retrying on that exact session. On mobile data, toggling airplane mode briefly can get you a fresh IP; on Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data.
  • Page stuck "loading" — usually a temporary IP restriction. It often clears in 30–60 minutes, but that's not guaranteed — switching networks is faster than waiting it out.
  • Order canceled after checkout — usually oversold inventory, a failed payment/address verification, exceeding the per-account item limit, or Target flagging the order as reseller activity. Check the cancellation email before trying again.

Check the seller

Pokémon TCG product on Target is normally sold directly by Target, not a third-party marketplace seller — but always confirm if a listing or price looks off before you check out.
